Rumors have it that Samsung has as many as five new Galaxy flagships in pipeline for 2017 including the much talked about Samsung Galaxy X. The Samsung Galaxy S8, Galaxy S8 Edge, Galaxy Note 7 and Note 7 Edge are all presumed to be the ones getting a 2017 release.

The Samsung Galaxy X, which is allegedly a part of the smartphone maker's internal project code-named Project Valley, will be a first of its kind fully foldable smartphone. Samsung already has several patents for technology that will be used inside a foldable smartphone so it's not really going to be surprising when it eventually comes out with one.

It is rumored that the Galaxy X will look like a normal handset when closed, but will fold out to double in size and more closely resemble a tablet.

"Foldable Smartphone, which is being developed by Samsung Electronics, is taking its shape. It is a new-concept product which can be a 5-inch Smartphone and 7-inch tablet if opened," reported ETNews.

A foldable design means that users will be able to carry the handset easily in their pocket and unfold the big 7-inch screen as and when required.

The Galaxy X is expected to be the first Android smartphone to feature a 4K Ultra HD Bio blue screen display. It is also rumored that the Bio blue screen display would be far more superior to the currently popular Super AMOLED displays. As per reports, the smartphone's display will have the "diamond PenTile sub-pixel arrangement."

The foldable Samsung smartphone is likely to house the next-gen Snapdragon 830 processor from Qualcomm and run the Android N operating system.

As far as the Samsung Galaxy X pricing details are concerned, the handset is expected to roll out with a starting price of $650 or higher.

The device will be released in the UK, Italy, Germany, Poland, Nordic countries, France, Ireland and South Korea. Notably, missing from the list is the US market.

As Samsung is yet to confirm Galaxy X specifications, release date and pricing details, we would advise you to take the unconfirmed reports with a pinch of salt.
