If recent reports are to be believed, then the next DLC expansion of the popular sci-fi shooter "Destiny" will be titled "Rise of Iron" and will get unviled this week.

According to IGN, Destiny developer Bungie Studio had filed a trademark application for "Rise of Iron" with the United States Patent & Trademark Office on May 31. The trademark application is for use of the name in video game software and other media products like audio books, novels, toys, comic books and graphic novels.

While, the game developer has not confirmed the title of the expansion, it has announced that it will reveal a new adventure in the "Destiny" franchise on Thursday, June 9 at 10am PT (6pm BST) through a live stream on its Twitch channel.

"You're invited to learn all about the next threat that you'll confront as Guardians," Bungie announced about the livestream event.

"Save the date. Follow our channel. This will be your first glimpse at what awaits you later on this year, followed by a deeper dive with the development team."

Last month, an image of a promotional poster for "Destiny: Rise of Iron" leaked online on Reddit. Two sources familiar with Bungie had confirmed the authenticity of the poster to Kotaku. The leaked promotional material featured Lord Saladin of the Iron Banner wielding a menacing-looking weapon.

YouTuber Gothalion also posted a screenshot of the Google search results showing "Rise of Iron." It is to be noted that there has been no official confirmation from Bungie yet.

Rumors suggest the upcoming DLC expansion "Destiny: Rise of Iron" will have a Fallen theme, with a size much larger than the last three expansions to date, namely "The Dark Below," "House of Wolves" and "The Taken King." The expansion is expected to have a heavy focus on the Iron Lords and the Iron Wolves and include a new raid, along with a new weapon type.
