While game developer 343 Industries has not revealed much about the sixth installment of the popular "Halo" franchise, possibly dubbed "Halo 6", it is rumored that the game is already in the development stage and might get a release in 2018.

There are reports which claim that unlike the previous Halo titles, the next installment of the first-person shooter video game will be rolled out for both PC and Xbox One owners. The last three installments of the franchise were made exclusive for Xbox consoles. The gaming studio has already confirmed that it will not be releasing "Halo 5: Guardians" on Windows PC.

In an interview with PC Gamer, when Microsoft's Phil Spencer was asked if it the next Halo games would have the same fate as "Halo 5," he replied saying "Not at all."

When Spencer was asked the reason for not bringing "Halo 5" to PC, he said it was not sensible for the company to work on PC port of a year-old game, rather they chose to focus on the future and concentrate on new games.

While, Spencer did not directly confirm that "Halo 6" will get a PC version via Windows 10, he did reveal that the company is keen in making all of its next first party games to be Windows 10 compatible.

It still remains unannounced as when fans can expect "Halo 6" to get released. However, if rumors are to be believed, "Halo 6" might get a 2018 release date. This is likely due to the fact that developer 343 Industries has maintained a gap of three years in between releases. "Halo 4" was released in 2012 and "Halo 5" was out by 2015, so, fans can expect "Halo 6" to be rolled out by 2018.

What new exciting features would you like to see in "Halo 6" when the game gets released? Let us know in comments below.
