US Defense Research Update: Hypersonic, ISR Drones By 2030 Give Enemies Seconds For Counter-Attack

The United States Air Force will have a hypersonic drone or Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance (ISR) vehicle by 2030. The technology aims to allow air vehicles to enter and exit an enemy territory at a high-speed state and send back imagery without the knowledge of the owner of the territory.

A hypersonic drone or ISR vehicle will give weapons the ability to travel at a rapid velocity and ultimately disable the territorial enemy from firing back, Scout reported. Its velocity will make it hard for enemies to catch it. The Air Force could use an ISR vehicle further to conduct both surveillance and set out weapons by 2040.

Numerous hypersonic drone or ISR vehicle could be produced and developed to fire up the sky up to the earth's atmosphere and utilize its speed to strike the targets. The procedure is called a boost glide technology, one so advanced that it could only be depicted for now and not yet produced. The enemies could only have seconds to counter-attack, giving the edge of the battle to the attackers themselves. All mechanics is made possible with rapid-growing technology.

The US government has not set any flight tests for the hypersonic drone or ISR vehicle yet. While there have been reports that China could possibly deploy a hypersonic boost and glide missile by the year 2020, the recent annual reports of the US-China Economic and Security Review Commission said that it was stated that this hypersonic vehicle has been progressing rapidly, aiming to deploy its first missile in 4 years.

Aside from China, Russia has also planned to deploy a hypersonic vehicle, a nuclear powered guided missile 2 years following China's launch schedule planned. Russia will have their own hypersonic vehicle in 2022, Forbes reported.

Hypersonic drone or ISR vehicle technology that growing as rapidly as these vehicles could be launched, there is no way to know what people could possibly create out of it.
