'Halo 6' Release Date Update: Game’s PC Release Not Confirmed?

While gamers were quite excited about a possible "Halo 6" PC release owing to Microsoft's Play Anywhere program, new reports suggest the highly anticipated gaming title might not be able to make it to the game list.

Last month, during Microsoft's conference at the E3 2016 event, the tech giant announced that its Xbox Play Anywhere program will allow gamers to buy a game once and play it on Windows 10 PC and Xbox One.

Apparently, Microsoft was not clear about which games would be included on its Xbox Play Anywhere program. A number of gamers were immediately excited for the possibility of playing "Halo 6" on their PCs.

But, now, the software giant has confirmed that that only the games which were brought to E3 2016 will be included in the Play Anywhere program. As "Halo 6" remained unannounced at the event, only titles such as "Halo Wars 2," "Gears of War 4" and "Forza Horizon 3" are confirmed to be playable on both Xbox One and PC via a single digital purchase. Microsoft confirmed this in a blog post detailing the new Anniversary update coming to Xbox One and PC in August.

"Every new title published from Microsoft Studios that we showed onstage at E3 this year will support Xbox Play Anywhere and will be easily accessible in the Windows Store," the company's official blog post read.

With that in mind, players should still be positive about "Halo 6" PC release. In fact, in an interview with PC Gamer, when Microsoft's Phil Spencer was asked if it the next Halo games would have the same fate as "Halo 5," he replied saying "Not at all."

While, Spencer did not directly confirm that "Halo 6" will get a PC version via Windows 10, he did reveal that the company is keen in making all of its next first party games to be Windows 10 compatible.

As far as "Halo 6" release date is concerned, if rumors are to be believed, the game is expected to get a 2018 launch.
