Pokémon GO has already been dubbed the most popular smartphone game in history only a few months after it was launched. It continues to make headlines all over the world, as gamers catch, train, and battle with other little creatures. Here the beginner's guide if you want in on the Pokémon craze.

Mashable.com has explained a step by step instruction of how to play the IT game now. If you are one of those who are just starting out in the magical and colorful world of Pokémon Go, there are several things you need to learn and remember to catch them all. Whether or not you've tried playing a game of Pokémon before, you'll have to start this game from scratch.

According to the Pokémon GO database, you'll need Android or iOS Device with GPS and Internet access (WiFi or Mobile Data) to play. Android devices must have version 4.3 or higher and iOS users must have an iPhone 5 or better.

The game can be downloaded in either the Google Play App Store for Android users or the iTunes App Store those using iOS. You can go to the Virtual Store and search Apps for "Pokémon Go". Click on "Install" and you should be good to go. You should have at least 200MB of free storage space to download the App. The initial download is around 50MB, but there may be new updates to download as well.

So what exactly happens in Pokémon Go? Basically, you have to go around and capture creatures called Pokémon so you can fight other people's Pokémon with your won. What makes Pokémon GO so interesting is that it's tied to the real world.

The app is able to track your IRL location, meaning you hunt and catch Pokémon on the same roads and parks that you're walking or passing through in real life. PokéStops (where you stock up on items) are linked to real world places like post offices, and gyms (where you fight rival Pokémon trainers i.e. other people playing the game) are things like churches and train stations in the real world, mirror.co.uk said.

At the beginning of the game, you will be asked to learn some terms, and the common controls that will be used in the game. Then, you will have the opportunity to create your own Pokémon Go Trainer. He or she will serve as your one-of-a-kind avatar as you roam the world. After you finish creating your trainer, you will need to explore and at some point you will find yourself in the Gym where you can choose one of three teams: Mystic is Blue, Valor is Red and Instinct is Yellow.

Before you explore the Pokémon GO world any further, there are a few things you need to know. There are 4 icons which can be found on the bottom of your screen. From left to right, these include Trainer Profile Picture, Pokedex, Items and Pokémon.

The Trainer Profile is where you can see your current Trainer level, XP required to reach the next level, Badges or Achievements and more. You will get specific achievements for walking certain distances, catching a required number of new Pokémon, going to a number of Pokestops, winning a certain number of Gym battles, and a lot more.

Pokedex is the digital encyclopedia of every Pokémon that can be captured in Pokémon Go. When you first start out, each Pokémon Profile will be hidden.

As soon as you capture a Pokémon, the Pokedex will settle with an image and show detailed information about the Pokémon you caught.

You will also have to collect items. As you travel and advance in Pokémon Go you will be able to get items. These Items may include Pokeballs, Potions, Eggs, and others that will automatically be added to your inventory. Pressing the Items icon will give you with quick access to your inventory.

Pokémon, this will be the menu to click to see all of the Pokémon you have captured so far. Each Pokémon will show up as a small image with its corresponding CP value. Selecting a Pokémon will show further details including Type, height, weight, Moves, etc.

Now that you have the basic knowledge of the game to start out, it's now time to start exploring.
