iPhone 7 Release Date, Specs, Price, Rumors: September 16 Launch Confirmed? Apple To Ditch ‘iPhone 7’ Banner?
It seems that the wait for Apple's highly anticipated "iPhone 7" will soon be over as new rumors suggest a September release date for the handset.
This time its popular leakster Evan Blass (aka @evleaks) who tweeted that the iPhone 7 release will happen in the week commencing September 12. In another tweet, he noted that the launch should happen on Friday, Sept. 16. As Apple usually follows a September release pattern for its iPhone handsets, it is anticipated that this time also the upcoming iPhones will be unveiled during the same month.

It is to be noted that Blass's tweet doesn't mention "iPhone 7," instead he has used the term "iPhone 2016." According to the leakster, Apple will break its naming conventions as it won't put the upcoming handsets under an iPhone 7 banner. It remains to be seen, if not iPhone 7, what would be the upcoming iPhones be called.
Another report claims that the Cupertino will roll out not two but three iPhones this year. New images posted on Chinese social network Weibo show front and back views of three handsets labelled as "iPhone 7 Pro", "iPhone 7 Plus" and "iPhone 7." As per the picture, the "Pro" version of the handset will get dual rear cameras.

Italian tech blog MaCityNet also leaked a picture which shows the "iPhone 7" in four different color variants- gold, rose gold, silver and space gray.
Rumor mills have it that the upcoming iPhone will feature the same overall design and shape like its predecessors, the iPhone 6s and iPhone 6 Plus.
There have been whispers that the Cupertino will ditch the base 16GB storage option in favor of a 32GB base model this time. The midrange model will be 128 GB and top end will be 256 GB.
Readers are advised to take the information with a grain of salt as nothing about the iPhone release date, specs or price has been announced by Apple.
