Android 7.0 Nougat is suggested to be deployed soon. Evan Blass, an always reliable tipster, claimed that Google is working on with its August release alongside 8/5 security patch. Through a Twitter account, Blass however claimed that the next major version of Android will not make its way to the  LG built Nexus 5.

Suspicions surface that if Blass' Android 7.0 Nougat claims are true, Google's next-generation Nexus smartphones could possibly be rolled out sooner than the previously rumored September or October release. Google typically combines new Android builds along with the release of its Nexus phones and tablets.

Moreover, HTC is reportedly manufacturing two Google smartphones which will carry the Android 7.0 Nougat. The handsets being manufactured are code named Sailfish and Marlin. Sailfish is a plastic 5.2-inch unit while Marlin is a metal clad 5.5-inch phone, Phone Arena reported.

HTC was one of the first Android smartphone manufacturer to declare an Android 7.0 Nougat update to its HTC 10, One M9 and One A9. In late June, HTC once again confirmed its plans as the company posted on its Twitter page about the Android release when Google officially announced the OS' release.

The Android Developer Preview program has seen a lot of changes since its inception in 2014. Android Lollipop only saw one developer preview while Android Marshmallow ended up offering three previews. With Android 7.0 Nougat, Google has advanced by offering the fifth and final preview arriving earlier this month, Android Authority reported.

It has also been reported that Google has threatened to publish a report on how fast smartphone manufacturers deliver software updates. Google reportedly wants Android licensees and carriers to roll out major Android updates faster than they currently are.

Android 7.0 Nougat is then suggested to be experienced first by HTC 10, HTC One M9 and HTC One A9 owners. Furthermore, the first smartphones equipped with the new OS may also arrive sooner given the aggressive development schedule of Android 7.0 Nougat.
