Tech giant Microsoft has finally begun rolling out its new and improved Xbox One S console on August 2, Tuesday. What's exciting about the new console is that it's 40 percent slimmer than the normal Xbox One and features a slight power boost in terms of its processing specs and storage capacity.

According to The Verge, the Xbox One S has a GPU clock-speed of 914Mhz, which makes it around 7.1 percent faster than the original Xbox One with 853Mhz GPU clock-speed. The Xbox One S comes with 4K Blu-ray (UHD Blu-ray), 4K streaming support as well as support for high dynamic range (HDR) content.

Talking about the design, the new console design is available in a single "Robot White" color option with a new style to the front and top including tiny square hole. There's also a vertical stand so that gamers can have the console upright. The Xbox One controller features a more streamlined top section, textured grips and a Bluetooth connection, which makes it easier for use with a PC. The Xbox One S has ditched the touch sensitive power button as found in the Xbox One and has replaced it with a physical power button. The console has an infrared blaster in the front which lets users turn on TVs and set top boxes without using remotes.

The Xbox One S is currently available in the 2 TB model, valued at $399. The $299 and $349 versions, at 500 GB and 1 TB respectively, will be rolled out in stores starting August 23.

Australia, Austria, Belgium, Canada, Czech Republic, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Slovakia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Turkey, the UK, and the United States are among the countries to receive the Xbox One S at launch, reported Gadgets 360Microsoft is expected to roll out the next Xbox iteration, dubbed Project Scorpio, in late 2017.
