Samsung Galaxy S8 Release Date, Specs, Rumors: Handset To Feature Only Curved Screen Display?

Samsung flagship smartphones "Galaxy S7" and "Galaxy S7 Edge" have been quite popular among users. Now, a lot of rumors about the release date, specs and price of the upcoming smartphone, possibly dubbed Samsung Galaxy S8, have started making rounds. If recent reports are to be believed, the next gen Galaxy handset might come with new specs and features, even better than its predecessors.

According to Ecumenical News, Samsung is planning to ditch the flat screen design in favor of curved screen display in its upcoming smartphones. There are chances that the upcoming Samsung Galaxy S8 might get rolled out in only curved design variant. While, the smartphone maker did not directly confirm anything, Samsung Mobile president Koh Dong-jin said during a recent interview that "Samsung has considered that it would make the edge display as the identity of the Galaxy S smartphone lineup if the company can provide consumers differentiated user experience through software and user-friendly functions (for the curved screen)."

Previous rumors suggested that Samsung will release its next galaxy flagship smartphone, dubbed "Galaxy S8" with code name "Project Dream," sometime early next year. The handset is rumored to feature a 5.5-inch 4K UHD display with a resolution of 3,840 x 2,160 pixels. Among other specs, the Samsung Galaxy S8 is rumored to feature Qualcomm's latest Snapdragon 830 chipset paired with a massive 6GB of random access memory (RAM). The handset is expected to run the latest OS of Google, Android Nougat, reported GameNGuide.

The Samsung Galaxy S8 is rumored to come with improved iris scanning technology with a new kind of triple-camera system. Furthermore, if rumors about a possible 4K display is true, then it is for sure that Samsung will equip Galaxy S8 with a much bigger battery than its predecessor to keep the handset powered for more than a day. The smartphone will also reportedly feature a USB Type-C port for reversible, fast charging and quicker data transfers. The Samsung Galaxy S8 is rumored to debut at the Mobile World Congress event in February 2017.
