Is Samsung Galaxy Note 7 Better Than Galaxy S7 Edge? Here’s The Answer
Samsung recently announced the Galaxy Note 7 at it's Unpacked event in NYC. Tech enthusiasts are expecting the Galaxy Note7 to be as successful as the Samsung Galaxy S7 edge which was rolled out earlier this year. According to research firm Strategy Analytics, the Galaxy S7 Edge sold around 13.3 million units globally in the first half of 2016. The device is expected to sell 25 million units by 2016 end.
It is to be noted that Samsung Galaxy Note 7 is quite similar to Galaxy S7 edge in terms of design and specifications. Both are powered by Samsung's Exynos 8890 processor coupled with 4GB RAM. The Galaxy Note 7 features a bigger 5.7-inch Quad HD (2560 x 1440 resolution) display with Gorilla Glass 5 as compared to a 5.5-inch Quad HD display with Gorilla Glass 4 found in Galaxy S7 edge. In fact, the Galaxy Note 5 successor is the first smartphone to HDR mode enabled display which offers better contrast ratio, and wider color gamut, reported Indian Express.
The Galaxy Note 7 features a 3,500mAh battery, while the Galaxy S7 Edge features a 3,600mAh battery. Both the phablets offer Samsung's 'Always-on Display', however, the Galaxy Note 7 features handwriting support which allows users to quickly scribble Notes on the lockscreen. In terms of size, the Samsung Galaxy Note 7 measures 153.5 x 73.9 x 7.9 mm and the Galaxy S7 Edge is 150.9 x 72.6 x 7.7 mm in size. Both the devices feature a 12-megapixel rear camera and 5-megapixel front camera featuring f/1.7 aperture, reported Forbes.
The features which make Samsung Galaxy Note 7 superior to Galaxy S7 Edge are the iris scanner and the new S Pen. The iris scanner lets users unlock and authenticate their device with their eyes. The phablet has also retained the fingerprint scanner embedded in the physical home button. The phablet's S Pen features a new 0.7mm thin tip and enhanced pressure sensors which let users quickly make notes, select options, write annotations and more. As far as the price is concerned, the Samsung Galaxy Note 7 comes with a price tag of $849, while, the Galaxy S7 Edge is currently selling for $749.99, reported iDigitalTimes.
