With the 'super lice' being resistant to treatments, experts began to promote natural and easy ways to deal with them. The newly discovered lice have been found in at least 48 states in the USA and make up 97 percent of lice cases in Canada. This has caused a lot of parents to worry about how to solve the problem. Good thing the solutions aren't confined to shampoos and other chemical treatments.
Cleanliness is one of the major keys to lice elimination, according to Dawn Mucci, founder of the Lice Squad in Innisville, Ont. Household items like pillowcases, bed sheets, and the like should be vacuumed or put in the dryer. For other items, it is advisable to place them in garbage bags for 48 hours. Away from the scalp for one to two days, lice would die.
Resorting to natural products like olive or coconut oil - a smothering agent - can likewise help. It is also best to look for non-chemical products that dissolve the waxy skeletons of lice. Lastly, using a lice comb is also suggested. It is recommended to use the ones that have fine metal teeth. Additionally, lice and even eggs can be removed easier if the teeth are close together.

According to The Des Moines Register report, Dr. Patricia Quinlisk, medical director for the Iowa Department of Health, believes that the "super lice" are not actually worse than the average lice. It's just that the "super lice" are more difficult to eliminate. Through patiently and consistently doing natural and easy ways, experts believe that these lice can be eliminated.
