The former Los Angeles Laker, Kobe Bryan, has opened a $100 million venture capital fund together with Jeff Stibel, the brain scientist, author and tech entrepreneur. The venture fund is named Bryant Stibel, which will invest in media, technology and data companies in the next few years. Investing is one of the passions of the well-known basketball player. He said that this is where it's at for him. Meanwhile, Stibel is the vice chairman of Dun & Bradsheet now. He was the president and CEO of Web.com, Inc. before.

Stibel told the CNN Money that they wanted their body of work and the entrepreneurs and companies to stand for themselves. He further said that they wanted to prove that this was something that had substance and depth.

According to Fortune, Bryant and Stibel began investing together in 2013. They had invested in 15 companies. These include The Player Triune, sports media website, legal-services company, Juicero, Scopely, LegalZoom, video game designer and home-juicing company.

Bryant started to become a businessman in 2014 when he invested in the sports industry. After a year, the company, which is known as Kobe Inc. invested millions in sports drink maker, the BodyArmor. Meanwhile, the billionaire investor Chris Sacca said that he'd been speaking with Bryant. He further said that Bryant was obsessive with the research and he didn't think that Bryant was pretending about the stuff. He added that he thought he can be great at this.

Bryant is optimistic on his next passion other than the basketball. He stated that playing basketball, the focus is always on winning. He further stated that now, championships come and go. On the other hand, if you really want to build something that lasts generations, you have to help inspire the next generation. He concluded that's when you create something forever and what's most beautiful.
