New PokéMon GO Update: More Strategies To Catch, Collect PokéMon Added
A new update for Pokémon GO has been released which added the Pokémon Appraisal feature. It basically allows Pokémon players on Android and iPhone to learn about a Pokémon's attack and defense capabilities according to their Team Leader.
Androidheadlines.com reported that the most noticeable addition to the update is the Pokémon Appraisal system. This will basically inform the players about the battle of potentials of the pocket monsters they have captured. In other words, even though a player catches two Pokémon of the same kind, one of which will have higher individual values (IVs) than the other, which means that one will end up having more power in its final form than the other one.
The number-one new feature in the update, per a Facebook message from the game's developers: "Implemented Pokémon Appraisal: Trainers will now be able to learn about a Pokémon's attack and defence capabilities from their Team Leader (Candela, Blanche or Spark) to determine which of their Pokémon have the most potential for battle."
Several Pokémon GO players and developers have already come up with a lot of useful IV calibrators. However Niantic isn't too happy about its players using third-party services to play the game, so the game maker created its own mechanics to let players tell the difference between potentially great and not-so-great pocket monsters. This can be done by asking your Team Leader (Blanche, Candela, or Spark) about your Pokémon stats, gamespot.com reported.
Business Insider also reported that this update is going to bring more strategy to the game, since players will now be able to gauge their Pokémon team's potential. As being able to check Pokémon IV within the game itself will maintain the game's sizable base of players. Meanwhile, Niantic would like you to inform its players that they're not done with the updates yet, and promises that there's more to come. "We are still working hard on several new and exciting features to come in the future of Pokémon GO," say the app release notes. Features previously promised to come in future updates include Pokémon trading and global gym battle leaderboards.
