French authorities forbid women wearing of burkini in beaches. Burkini is a swimwear that covers most skin usually worn by muslim women. The  ban was related to the growing islamophobia in France and even in other european and western countries. This ruling by the administrative court of France was greatly influenced by Paris terror attack by an islamic terrorist group ISIS killing 86 people last july.

According to a BBC report, Public officials and authorities from France believed that the action was necessary deemed "appropriate" and "proportionate" to make the French citizens feel safe in their respective cities. On the other hand, according to a report by Vox, wearing full body swimsuits is a representation of  "Islam's inability to assimilate to French culture".

However, just like any racist ruling, it gained so much criticism from both local and international public. Australian-Lebanese designer and the inventor of Burkini, Aheda Zanetti said in an interview by Politico, contrary to what Public officials claim, burkini was actually invented for muslim women be able to "appropriately" blend in to the western culture.

"I created [burkinis] to stop Muslim children from missing out on swimming lessons and sports activities,I hope the French prime minister and the mayors see that they should find out how to combine communities, how to work around issues, instead of harming the community, taking the beach away from some people and punishing them. That's just hatred.", Zannetti added.

France strict efforts to keep secularism in the French government lead to the implementation of several discriminatory policies like the Burkini ban. This was not the very first time the French government implemented  discriminatory policies. In 2004, France is the very first european country to ban full face veil in public.

Currently, the burkini ban was suspended for further review after human rights activists and several civilians opposed the ruling.
