‘Moto X 2016’ Release Date, Specs, Latest News: Handset Launch Set In September?
While, Motorola hasn't revealed anything about the highly anticipated "Moto X 2016" smartphone, new rumors related to the handset's release date, specs and pricing details have been making rounds for quite some time now. Earlier, there were reports which claimed that Motorola has ditched the Moto X line in favor of the latest Moto Z series. But, the smartphone maker confirmed to Android Police back in June that its Moto X line is alive and well.
In fact, the good news is that "Moto X 2016" smartphone has recently been certified by China Compulsory Certificate or the CCC, reported TechTimes. In the CCC listing, the Moto X smartphone appeared with the model number XT1662. The listing also revealed some of the features of the upcoming device including a MediaTek Helio P10 MT6755 chipset and Turbo charging support.
According to the BitBag, the "Moto X 2016" was also spotted on GeekBench benchmarking website with the model number XT1650. As per the GFXBench listing, the upcoming handset is expected to feature a 4.5-inch screen with a 1920×1080 resolution, a Mali-T860 MP2 GPU, a 3GB of RAM, a 16MP primary camera and an 8MP secondary camera. The smartphone is rumored to come with 32 GB of on-board storage, a 3,630mAh battery and run Android 6.0 Marshmallow out of the box. Among other specs, the "Moto X 2016" is expected to offer a fingerprint reader, a USB Type-C charging port, accelerometer, Bluetooth, GPS, NFC, gyroscope, heart rate sensor, light sensor, compass and a special "heat pipe" feature that will help reduce the heat and keep the phone cool for a long period of time.
If popular leakster Evan Blass is to be believed the upcoming Moto X smartphone will roll out in two- black and silver- variants. As far as the release date is concerned, the "Moto X 2016" is expected to get released sometime in September with a price tag of around $400.
