Samsung Galaxy S8: Most Anticipated Leaks on Specs, Design And New Features Are Here
Samsung's flagship smartphone, the Galaxy series, is definitely one of the most highly smartphone in the Android world. Even if we are months away from the actual launching of Galaxy S8, the leaks and rumors about the phone's specs and design can't keep Samsung fans from getting too excited.
Specifications
As reported by Forbes, a China-based micro-blogger and well known tipster, Weibo, claims that the Galaxy S8 will feature a dual camera shooter just like its mortal rival Apple's iPhone 7. The camera will be Samsung's very own 12 megapixels similar to S7, S7 Edge and Note 7; and a 13 megapixels manufactured by Sony. The said camera hardware combination promises more depth of field focusing and more accurate color reproduction.
According to Techradar, there are strong rumors that the new flagship will have a massive 6GB RAM and a powerful Snapdragon 830 processor. There is also a speculation that it will have the Galaxy Note 7's iris scanner. Samsung patented their foldable display technology and they might be introducing to the market this 2017 in the Galaxy S8 models.
Design
One the most distinct changes in Galaxy S8's release is that they will no longer be releasing two variants. Galaxy S8 will only be available in a curved edge variant. In terms of design the we could expect the new flagship will have thinner and sleeker curved edges, but it will remain consistent to its metal and glass.
Extra features
In an article by Phonearena, Galaxy S8 boasts that it will be compatible with Google's Daydream virtual reality project. The new Galaxy S8's Project Dream will sport a 4K resolution AMOLED display capable of VR display with 60 fps frame rate. Samsung is planning to boost VR experience in their flagship phones to increase the sales of a not so popular VR hardware, Samsung Gear VR and Gear 360 VR camera that they are offering to consumers.
They will also be introducing "Smart glow feature". This new feature will is a LED ring along the main camera that will light up in different colors when there are notifications and has face recognition for easier selfie shoot.
It will still hold previous features in the recent Galaxy flagships like USB type-C fast charging port, wireless charging capability, expandable micro SD slot up to 256 GB, water proof IP68 certified body, Snapdragon X12 modem chip supporting 1 Gbps. It will also most likely run the recent Android Nougat operating system.
