Samsung Plans To Let Android, Windows Dual Operating System Run Simultaneosly In Split Screen

There are speculations that Samsung is experimenting in their smartphone division which may probably lead to the most peculiar feature of the Korean brand. The undisputed king of Android is planning to adopt a second operating system,nWindows. However, that's not all, they are also planning to allow split screen feature so that users can exploit the best of what both worlds can offer.

In a report by Slash Gear, it seems that Samsung is finally ready to break away from the Android monopoly in their devices and decided to bring a different user experience to users satiated with Android. A filed patent finally confirmed this plan by Samsung. 

Samsung's proposed new feature is not exactly new to the market. Several devices already allowed dual booting of Android and Windows mostly offered by tablets and hybrid laptops. But you still have to reboot the device to be able to switch to another operating system. Samsung's innovation will allow split screen between operating systems so that the user can seamlessly switch between Android and Windows or you can use both at the same time.

This feature is especially useful when particular apps run better in a specific operating system or an app is exclusively offered in the app market of an operating system. Say for example, the MS office apps are definitely more optimized to run in devices running Windows OS. On the other scenario, many apps in the Android Playstore is still unavailable in Windows' App Store.  

The said OS split screen feature will require more upgrades in terms of specs to run smoothly. At least 6-8 GB of RAM and maybe a 10-core processor chip would be the basic prerequisites for this to be possible. Samsung did not hint in the patent file on what models will this feature be available; will this be available to both smartphone, phablet, tablet lines; or will they be introducing it as new set Galaxy series, as stated in a Nokia Power User blog post

However, do not get your hopes to high since Google and Windows still haven't confirmed if they are okay with the idea that their operating systems will be shared on the same device.
