With no major update in MacBook Pro since 2013, most MacBook fans are eagerly waiting for new MacBook Pro 2016. An update to the MacBook is inevitable but the bigger focus in now on when that will happen. There are several rumors about the expected release date for MacBook Pro 2016 event in October.

It was highly anticipated that the release date would be announced during the iPhone 7 event. But against all expectations, Apple made no such announcement during the event. Some experts believe the delay in announcement could mean the possibility of better features.

According to the Macworld UK that had initially reported the launch in September, an October announcement or launch for the new MacBook Pro 2016 release. The reason is believed to be Apple's intention of using the latest Intel Kaby Lake processors.

The new MacBook Pro is expected to be thinner and include an OLED-based touch screen panel replacing the standard key functions. According to AppleInsider, it is speculated that USB-C would certainly be seen in the new MacBook Pro. All internals are also expected to receive an upgrade.

To add to its unique features, MacBook Pro 2016 may not have the 3.5mm audio jack similar to the recently launched Iphone 7. It is expected to have wireless headphones. You may also see Touch ID in the new MacBook Pro which will unable to log in to your laptop with your fingerprint.

Apple CEO Tim Cook while responding to a MacRummors reader's email about the release of MacBook Pro 2016 said, the company is "very committed" to it and suggested that updates to the Mac lineup are soon to come.

The new MacBook Pro is more important to Apple than we might think. Apple for the first time in last 10 years has seen a decline in sales and a 27 percent decline in its profits.

Some experts believe that there will be no announcement in 2016 and new MacBook Pro will see the light of the day only in 2017. But with so many rumors doing rounds, we can only hope for an October release or announcement.

Looks like this is the shortest MacBook fans may have to wait to replace their older MacBooks.
