Toyota's upcoming fully-imported and next-generation 2017 'Camry' model has been leaked online, a courtesy of NASCAR's ongoing close tie-up with Toyota. The Camry NASCAR was displayed during a recent presentation with drivers presenting a revised front fascia compared to the present car.

The photo was originally posted on Instagram by the user luke_hewa_dennyhamlinfan101, and publicised via the VW Vortex forums. The photo seems to come from a racing presentation that possibly aimed to introduce the Camry NASCAR machine.

The styling adopted by NASCAR obviously slightly exaggerates those of the present road cars that they're all inspired by, but even then some significant differences are clearly seen. For instance, the completely revised headlights have been fitted with additional three L-shaped LED daytime lights joined into each of the headlight cluster.

In addition, the upcoming 2018 Camry's grille is different from the outgoing model. The design is also evocative in shape to the spindle grille that is presently used by Lexus, states auto-revolution website. A new set of air intakes does draw further attention to the car's front-end.

In comparison to the current model, the 2018 Camry seems to be drastically lighter thanks to the use of company's new modular TNGA platform. Though the Power-train details look sketchy, in future a hybrid version is inevitable just as the four-cylinder that'll be aided by a turbocharger. According to caradvice.com, a 3.5-liter naturally-aspirated V6 is expected to continue power the high-end models.

The new Camry is to make its debut in the US at the end of 2017 as a 2018 model year car and this is possibly the reason why the NASCAR race car has a "2018 Camry" lettering done along its flanks. Expectations are also that the new Camry will be first introduced in Australia once the production of the Camry ceases at Altona in the mid half of 2017.

Presently, there are two versions of the Camry: First is a sportier US-centric model that is sold locally by the 'Camry', and the second, a more conservative model, that is currently produced in Australia, Asia and Russia and is sold as a 'Camry' in most of the world. It's not clear if Toyota will continue with its Camry strategy both locally as well as overseas and if so, it's still not known whether we'll receive one or both of its variants.
