Google Pixel Phones Release Date, Specs, Price: Pixel Phones To Get Qualcomm’s Top Notch Snapdragon 821 CPU?

A lot of rumors about the release date, specs and pricing details of Google's alleged new Pixel range of phones- possibly dubbed Pixel and Pixel XL- have been flooding the internet for quite some time now. While, Google hasn't yet confirmed whether or not it has ditched the Nexus brand name in favor of Pixel for its upcoming 2016 smartphones, there's no stop to rumors which claim the next gen Pixel smartphones are going to be the most powerful Android phones of 2016.

According to a report coming from Android Police, citing two reliable independent sources, the 5" Nexus Sailfish will be named Pixel, while the 5.5" Nexus Marlin will be named Pixel XL. The Pixel and Pixel XL smartphones will be branded exclusively by Google. However, HTC will be manufacturing the smartphone's hardware component could be manufactured by HTC.

 Android Police's David Ruddock reported that Google's upcoming Pixel phones will be the first to feature Qualcomm's new-and-improved Snapdragon 821 CPU which is expected to improve the speed as well as the performance of the handsets.

Among other specs, the alleged Google Pixel phone is expected to feature a 5-inch full HD display, a Snapdragon 821 chipset, 3 GB of RAM, Android 7.1 Nougat OS and 2,770 mAh battery. The larger sibling dubbed Google Pixel XL is rumored to come with 5.5-inch Quad HD display, a Snapdragon 821 chipset, 4 GB of RAM, Android 7.1 Nougat OS and 3,450 mAh battery. The handset is rumored to sport two different sensors from Sony for its front and back cameras. As far as Google Pixel 2016 smartphone price is concerned, the handsets will reportedly with higher price tags of around $649.

Talking about Google Pixel phones release date, the tech giant is expected to take the wraps off the new handsets on October 4, 2016.
