New reports suggest Google's latest Android 7.0 Nougat update is causing some issues for Nexus 5X users. It is to be noted that Google began rolling out Android 7.0 Nougat operating system for its Nexus devices including the Nexus 5X sometime last month.

Several Nexus 5X users reported that their handsets started experiencing the random rebooting issue after installing Android 7.0 Nougat OTA update. A number of users took it to the official Nexus Help Forum to report the reboot loop issue.

"Installed nougat over the air yesterday and since then random reboots occur," one of the affected users noted in a forum post, reported 9To5Google. The user added that creating a cache partition or factory resetting the handset does not help in getting rid of the problem.

Google reportedly came forward and acknowledged the issue saying that it is strictly related to the phone's hardware. A Google employee, Orrin, replied on the forum that the random reboot issue has affected only a small number of Nexus 5X users. He assured that the company is investigating into the matter. One thing which is pretty much confirmed is that the reboot issue cannot be fixed via an over-the-update. The handsets should be taken to LG centres for repair or exchange. Affected users are advised to contact their place of purchase for warranty or repair options, reported Android Authority.

Google has recommended that users who have purchased their phone directly from Project Fit can call 1-844-Talk-2-Fi for information about refunds, exchanges, or repairs. For those who didn't purchase their Nexus 5X on the Google Store, they can visit the LG website at www.lg.com/ as they may be covered by LG's limited manufacturer's warranty.
