Is It Really A Z4 Upgrade?
There's been a flood of spy photos and videos that reveal the heavily camouflaged BMW Z5 undergoing a test drive. The Roadster appears to have a dual tailpipe on each side of its rear bumper, indicating a bigger I6 engine. BMW usually uses two tailpipes on the left side of the bumper in its four-cylinder cars and one tail pipe at either side in its six-cylinder cars. So that's pretty evident that it's the Z4 M40i, rumors talked about.
Although the production of the Z4 roadster (E89) has ceased earlier in August 2016, the company is expected to be on full throttle with the development of the BMW Z5. The Auto-manufacturer has already analyzed the market and could launch a soft top Z5 to fill up the empty space created by the Z4.

Design And Specs: What To Expect?
The next-generation car appears longer, wider and a bit lower. The front has sharp features but hasn't lost its original 'Kidney Grille' identity. The BMW Z5 has become sharper in its outline and the curvy nature of the original car has been replaced by a more defined line. Although the rear appears unfinished, the footage does give a hint of the full LED setup in its tail lamps.
The Roadster will also feature CLAR RWD architecture , earlier found in the 7 Series, which brings it up to date in the BMW hierarchy. The Outlining features suggest that the BMW Z5 will be packing the new B58 turbocharged I6 engine. The Car will also include better brakes, sportier suspension bits, and some cool bodywork.
The expected significant price hike up from the current model's entry point should be about £28,000 to nearer £70,000.There's has been a huge gap since the launch of the last 3 Series and this time India is expected to be one of the top priority markets for the German automaker. Sources suggest that the BMW Z5, codenamed G29, could get launched by the end of this year or at the beginning of 2018.
