Black Moon Rising: This Rare Lunar Event Will Occur This Coming Friday

The month of September will end spookily and weirdly with the black moon rising. This is a rare lunar event that will happen on Friday night.

There are many definitions to describe what a black moon is. On the other hand, one common definition for the Black Moon is the second new moon in a calendar month. It is distinctive from the Blue Moon, which is the second full moon in a calendar month. The Black Moon is the event where the moon appears really dark. This would be a right time for stargazing, according to Huffington Post.

Since the Black Moon is a new moon, it will not be evident as the side of the moon that is lightened will be facing away from the Earth. According to AccuWeather, it will occur at 8:11 P.M. EDT on September 30. For areas in the Eastern Hemisphere, the Black Moon will happen at the end of October.

Bob Berman, an astronomer for Slooh said that this is the second new moon this month in all of the Americas, but not in Europe and points east from there. The two new moons that occurred in the same month was last March of 2014. The United States will have a Black Moon in September but not in other regions of the world.

Meanwhile Express.UK reports that the rare Black Moon in September is linked by some people to the apocalypse. The phenomenon happens every 32 months but this is different since on the first day of September, there was a 'ring of fire' solar eclipse. This was the time wherein the moon falls in line with the earth and the sun above Africa, which made it appear as if the sun had darkened.

This has been linked to the Book of Mathew 24:29. It reads, "Immediately after the tribulation of those days shall the sun be darkened and the moon shall not give her light, and the stars shall fall from heaven, and the powers of the heavens shall be shaken."
