Could The Reason Be Any Worse?
In his recent post on the Five Nights at Freddy's: Sister Location Steam page, Scott Cawthon states the game is being delayed as the story is too dark. The Game Developer said that some of the plot elements are very disturbing, and so he needs to rework the sequel into something that is kid-friendly.
Well, delays do happen in the gaming industry but it's very rare for postponing the launch just days before the actual launch. Of Course, the Five Nights at Freddy's fans are very angry about this latest announcement. Many fans were looking forward to playing the game on Friday. What's more upsetting is Cawthon's reason that the game is too dark to release. Aren't dark and disturbing plots the reason why consumers look for a horror game in the first place?
Is This A Publicity Stunt?
According to PCGamer, the reason Cawthon gives for suddenly delaying Five Nights at Freddy's: Sister Location from its planned release date doesn't make sense. It's also possible that all of this is just a publicity stunt. This is probably meant to advertise the game as being very disturbing or perhaps Cawthon is delaying the game because of technical reasons.
Keeping in mind, Cawthon's habit of releasing the Five Nights at Freddy's games early, fans should also consider that Cawthon is just trolling around. It wouldn't be that shocking if Five Nights at Freddy's: Sister Location follows that tradition, despite what Cawthon's posted.
The Actual Release Date
October 7th, the prior release date, is just a few days away and fans will soon learn whether Cawthon is being serious about the Five Nights at Freddy's Sequels delay. Just in case the game is delayed, it will still be interesting to see what changes Cawthon does to the game to make it more kid-friendly.
Maybe we're being unfair and Sister Location is really too much to handle and Cawthon is concerned genuinely for the younger fans. Guess all of us will know about that soon enough. Till yet, Five Nights at Freddy's: Sister Location is still scheduled to be launched on October 7.
