Girl with IQ of 161: Prodigy Prefers Tanning, Getting Manicures and Blonde Highlights
A teenage prodigy from Essex is giving Bill Gates and Albert Einstein a run for their money, according to SWNS.
Teachers were stunned when the 16-year-old scored a whopping 161 on her IQ test. As the average IQ ranges from 85 - 114 according to Scientifc American, students and teachers alike were shocked when Lauren Marbe, the typical girl next door, made her mark with an incredibly high score.
"My teachers knew I was quite clever because of my grades but they had always thought I was blonde and a bit ditzy," she told SWNS. "Now they keep saying 'I didn't realize you were that clever'."
Marbe admits to regularly enjoying tanning and manicures. However, she's said she's hoping to see the social stereotypes about blonde's change with her high IQ.
The teen is currently attending Roding Valley High School in Loughton, Essex, and is a straight A student who ultimately dreams of becoming a performer in the West End, according to The Sun. However, if she decides to go to college after high school, she plans on studying architecture at the University of Cambridge.
The teen is also a gifted singer who has performed in the West End for two years as part of the chorus for Andrew Lloyd Webber's smash-hit Joseph.
David and Sue Marbe, her parents, say they'll support Lauren with whatever path she ultimately decides to follow. And hopefully, put an end to the 'dumb blonde' stereotype.
"Most of the time Essex gets a bit of a negative press. People think all girls are blonde and all girls are dim. Lauren is blonde but it does seem like she has shaken the stereotype that all Essex girls are stupid," they said according to The Sun. "Essex girls are all well groomed and Lauren isn't any different. Her and her friends like to go out and get dressed up in nice clothes. There's nothing wrong with the TOWIE cast and everyone in Essex loves the program but its just nice for us all to get a good reputation for academic success for a change."
Can you say 'Legally Blonde?'
