Game developer Niantic has recently launched a minor update for Pokémon GO. The October update now counts even the Pokémons you face or see at the various gym locations as 'seen' Pokémons in your Game's Pokédex.

The minor change was first noticed through a post on reddit stating that the 'seen' marker in the Pokédex appears to be counting even the Pokemon you've encountered in gyms. Before this October update, the Pokémon listed in the Pokédex were the ones the player had seen before while exploration.

What does the Update mean?

The new addition clearly means that the players will now be able to remove some unpleasant blocks from the Pokédex without having to actually catch all the Pokémons. The bad news is that it will also obviously disorder the player's seen/caught ratio.

The update may be a minor one, but there are still some noteworthy details, which are worth mentioning. As has already been pointed out by the Reddit user, the feature will not affect every Pokémon the players have seen at any gym since they've been playing. As the update has been designed to modify the Pokédex 'seen' list from the user's present position onwards, the Pokemon the player has encountered previously at the gyms are not counted in the feature, reports Forbes.

Also, if you happen to encounter a Pokémon at a gym that you haven't yet caught, the 'seen' Pokémon is counted as a Phantom 'Seen: 1' Pokémon in the User's Pokédex. Once the player has caught that Pokémon in the wild, the number count would state two instead of one. This will obviously affect the players' counts for Pokémon seen/caught. Although this may not matter to all the players, it still appears not to be going well with other users, as Reddit comments suggest.

This minor October update is to be followed up a recently rumored update that'll reportedly make catching rare Pokémons in the game easy. If you still haven't noticed these changes in your Pokedex yet, the update may reach your device anytime soon.
