Dog With Human Face up for Adoption

Getting popular in the real world is not easy. But for Tonik, who has been circulating the Internet in the past week, he didn't really have to work hard to get there.

What attracted the press and a huge crowd toward Tonik was his eerily manlike face. This poodle-shih tzu mix is up for adoption from the Homeward Bound Animal Welfare Group rescue in Mishawaka, Indiana. Tonik, who was found in a kill shelter in Kentucky, went viral after the website Gawker highlighted it.

According to Petfinder, "He has not had too much socialization. He is great with other dogs. He is not dangerous, but should not be placed with young children because he will get too overwhelmed. He will need a home with lots of patience & good energy."

Homeward Bound Animal Welfare Group is flooded with more than 350 applications of people who are interested in adopting the dog. According to the owner Jen Schwartz, Tonik wouldn't be a good match for families with children, as he is not the type of dog that will play around, reports Huffington Post.

The 11-pound, 1-year-old dog's adoption fee is about $250. The images of Tonik were captured by Renny Mills, a professional photographer.

According to Petfinder, Tonik has been vet-checked, neutered, micro chipped, heart worm tested negative, and is up to date on routine shots and wormings, including rabies. He has been professionally groomed since his pictures were taken. However, he still resembles a "fuzzy-faced" person.
