Japanese Tech Show Showcases 4 Emerging Trends
The Big Tech companies of Tokyo are always upto something. Every year, the Japanese showcase many brilliant ideas and innovations. This year was no different and there were jaw-dropping illustrations of the emerging trends by the leading tech innovators at the CEATEC technology conference.
The Japanese are known Worldwide for their brilliance in the electronic sector; hence the CEATEC is often taken as the Japanese version of Consumer Electronics Show. The CEATEC is Japan's biggest IT and electronics trade show which ran from October 4 to October 7.
The Japanese came up with the flashiest of their electronic equipment to show to the World. Apart from all the emerging trends in the entire Tech Show, 4 stood out to be completely unique.
1. Talking Robots:
Talking Robots are somehow a really interesting thing if we see in the emerging trends. Moreover, Japan is a country which sees them as revitalizers for the economy of Japan. So, their love for the robots is very interesting.
In the section of Robots, Toyota came up with its talking robot Kirobo Mini. As being highlighted by its name, the Kirobo Mini is a tiny little robot which aids people as a conversational partner. The Kirobo is a very important breakthrough and a stepping stone for the tech giant Toyota in its push towards better Artificial Intelligence and robotics.
The conversational robots are a really interesting phenomenon which is rapidly gaining popularity in Japan. People are relying on these talking robots for both private and public use. This is an interesting trend which will enable people to have a device that will be able to deal with both their personal and public issues. The Japanese Tech shows make sure that progress in this sector gets a good portrayal in the committee of Nations.
Another example of the Talking Robots is the Toshiba's robot, Aiko Chihira, which greeted the shoppers at the Tokyo Department Store the last year.
2. Playing Robots:
Sporting is another interesting sector which people are easily fascinated towards. But what if there is no one to play with you? Well, you can sit back and relax now as the Japanese are working to enable you to play games all alone. Yes, once again they will be using robots for this purpose.
There are many examples of robots playing games with the humans in Japan. Some time ago, Tosy Topio emerged as a humanoid robot that played table tennis with people. Now, the very same trend has taken another leap and we see Forpheus taking it to the ping-pong court against a human player.
The Omron's Forpheus is powered by state-of-the-art sensors which enable the robot to measure the opponent's movements. In addition to this, the robot also tracks the ball. The frequency of these tracings is as high as 80 times per second.
The Forpheus is an example of collaborative robots which are thought to work side by side with humans in every field, whether it is leisure, such as sports, or work. With the analysis and collaboration of Forpheus, we see this emerging trend going to its climax very soon.
3. Medical Aid Equipment:
When you talk about electronics, you cannot leave Japan out. The country is spectacular in each and every field of electronics, and hence a trend setter.
Japan is facing rapid ageing of its population, and they rely on the electronics as healthcare and medical care aids. In this field, Japanese Tech Show depicted Fujitsu's Ontenna. It is simply a hair clip, which plays the role of hearing aid for the deaf.
The principle behind working of the Ontenna is fairly simple. It is just a microphone that is connected with an amplifier. Sounds enter through the microphone, get amplified and user is able to hear that sound with ease.
Ontenna is still making its way to the developed products, but once it is finished being developed, it is going to be a great emerging trend.
4. Touch Technology Innovations:
Humans rely on their basic five senses for every day tasks, apart from which touch plays a vital role. Everyone likes to communicate things through touch. It is considered to be very trustworthy, and Japanese know that.
In this Tech Show, the Japanese also displayed a device that could transfer information through human body communication. The touching is implied to use by the people for the transfer of information between people and objects.
The device is not really speedy at this moment, as it sends only 100kbps of data. It takes almost 10 seconds to transfer a megabyte and this is a slow process. However, this is a huge leap as human body interactions can now allow you to transfer data!
This is another emerging trend as with this technology at our disposal, we will easily be able to have contact details through mere shaking of hands, unlock the doors just by touching them and so much more! This leads to a new generation of human interaction, which is indeed something special.
The device is very big at the moment, and Panasonic, the maker of the device hopes to miniaturize it, if the response of the people goes in their favor.
These devices are not just emerging trends, from robots to human interaction; the Japanese are working on the evolution of the entire human race! In the near future, tech shows like CEATEC will completely change the face of humanity and a new digital era will prevail.
