Honda recently unveiled the 2017 Next Generation Honda CR-V, which has a relatively new design than that of the 2016 model. New muscular fenders, longer hood as well as the completely redesigned interior give the 2017 Next Generation Honda CR-V a stunning look. The auto manufacturer stated earlier that the new model is more spacy, more technologically advanced, has more safety features, and also has some features inspired from the Civic model.

The next gen Honda car has the capacity to make itself the best selling model from the auto giant. Honda's senior product planner Alice Lee also said earlier that the 2017 Next Generation Honda CR-V is very important to the Honda brand. Here's what we know about the upcoming model so far:

2017 Next Generation Honda CR-V: Powertrain

With an engine similar to that featured in Honda Civic, the 2017 Next Generation Honda CR-V is probably the first CR-V model to feature a turbocharged engine. Expected to give a power output of 190HP, the 1.5-liter four-cylinder produces a torque ranging from 2,000 to 5,000 rpm.

Much of the new features in the 2017 Next Generation Honda CR-V are inspired from the Civic model. The car is bigger in every aspect from the last year's model. It is 1.2 inches longer, 1.4 inches taller and wider and offers a 1.6-inch gain between its wheels. The 2017 Next Generation Honda CR-V will also feature a CVT automatic transmission, where the buyers will get to choose from two options- The front-wheel-drive or an all-wheel-drive traction version.

Redesigned Interior:

Overall, the cabin has more space and the cargo volume can be increased by upto two cubic feet with the rear seat up. The 2017 next Generation Honda CR-V interior has much more upgrades than you can think of. Starting from the instrument panel, which has been upgraded with two new screens, there's also a seven-inch touchscreen in the middle with a stunning colorful driver interface.

The A-pillar is thinner than that of the earlier model offering a better visibility. The car also features the Gramin navigation system. Honda has also brought back the volume knob in the center stack of the upcoming model. The Interface features Apple CarPlay as well as Android Auto, which have voice-activated controls as well.

Other major upgrades include the dual-zone climate controls, rear USB charging ports, remote start, and also an electric parking break. There's also increased rear legroom.

Exterior Looks:

From the exterior, the 2017 Next Generation Honda CR-V looks similar to any other CR-V. However, there are some major changes. The hood is longer than the last year's model and the fenders are also more flared. The new chrome grille has new elements and angles in it.

The 2017 Next Generation Honda CR-V also features Honda's first automatic shutter grille system, which is meant for lowering the aerodynamic drag. LED daytime running lights are available across the board, and LED headlights are offered on the upper trims. Honda also added couple of new features in the upcoming CR-V including a hands-free power tailgate, a rear cross-traffic monitor, blind-spot detection and also automatic high-beam headlights.
