New 2017 Mercedes E63 AMG / E63S Complete Review: Specs, Price And Release Date Revealed

The German auto-manufacturer unveiled its much awaited new 2017 Mercedes E63 AMG at the LA Auto show recently. If the launch of a Mercedes-Benz E-Class is taken to be an appetizer, the new 2017 Mercedes E63 AMG and its big brother, the E63S, form the main course.

All those fans worrying about the all-wheel drive diluting power from its 4.0-liter twin-turbocharged V8 should give away all their concerns, as the new large 2017 Mercedes E63 AMG sedan can still set roads on fire. Quite recently Mercedes-AMG E63 S was unleashed on a track and the car pulled some pretty hefty yet smoky drift.

New 2017 Mercedes E63 AMG: Specs

Just like the previous model both the versions- new 2017 Mercedes E63 AMG and E63S feature a similar engine but in different states of tune. The Sedan is powered by the 4.0-liter twin-turbo V-8 engine that was first featured in the AMG GT S. In the basic model of the New 2017 Mercedes E63 AMG, the engine gives an output of 563 HP with 553 lb.-ft. of torque. Whereas, for a bit more expensive E63 S version, the engine has been powered up to give an output of 603 HP with 627 lb.-ft. of torque.

In an earlier press release, Mercedes-Benz proudly stated that the latter's engine output is sufficient enough to make the upcoming 2017 Mercedes E63S AMG, the most powerful E-Class Vehicle to have ever rolled out of its factory doors. The new 2017 Mercedes E63 AMG will also feature a nine-speed automatic transmission on its four wheels drive.

The new 2017 Mercedes E63 AMG and E63 S have a mind blowing acceleration of 0 to 60 mph in just 3.3 seconds. This has been made possible by the brilliant combination of nutso power, well designed gears, a four-wheeled grip, and a fairly aggressive launch control. The latter S model can hit a maximum speed of 186 mph; while the regular new 2017 Mercedes E63 AMG has a maximum speed of 155 mph.

New 2017 Mercedes E63 AMG: Interior

From the inside, the New 2017 Mercedes E63 AMG sedan features a three-spoke alcantara / leather steering wheel coupled with a flattened rim so as to allow better driver control. New features have also been added to the interior including the sports seats and an IWC-designed analog clock.

While, the new 2017 Mercedes E63 AMG still has the COMAND infotainment system, which can be controlled by voice commands, central knob or the steering wheel-mounted buttons, new features such as the sedan's navigation, audio, and new bluetooth-based connectivity functions have been integrated into a single unit.

The car buyers will also have the option to buy an optional mbrace system that adds a number of cloud-based products, including location-based traffic, a concierge service, weather updates, automatic collision notification, stolen vehicle location assistance and more. Owners can use the mbrance smartphone app to even remotely lock, unlock or locate their lost vehicle.

New 2017 Mercedes E63 AMG: Release Date And Price

The new 2017 Mercedes E63 AMG units are expected to hit the American showrooms in summer 2017. Although no official announcement has yet been made, the E63 S model will be arriving around three months later.
