The iPhone 7 has just been launched, but the rumors about the upcoming 2017 Apple iPhone 8 have already started to surface. Next year, Apple will celebrate the tenth-year anniversary of its iPhone launch and iPhone 8 will reportedly be a major part of it. A new report states that the 2017 Apple iPhone 8 will come in two variants and will sport an all-glass back.

2017 Apple iPhone 8: Specs

A new report from Nikkei Asian claims that the 2017 Apple iPhone 8 will replace the earlier metal casing with a new all-glass casing. The report also adds that the upcoming iPhone 8 will only be available in two sizes- 4.7" and 5.5" sizes. Here's what we know about the smartphone so far:

2017 Apple iPhone 8: Upcoming Model Sizes

According to AppleInsider, the smartphone manufacturer will unveil only two flagship models of its 2017 Apple iPhone 8. Just the same as this year's iPhone 7 series, the upcoming iPhone model will be released in 4.7" and 5.5" sizes. The 4.7" iPhone has been high on Apple's bulk sales records, whereas the larger 5.5" model is still trying to gain ground. Apple wouldn't launch the 5" size of the upcoming model as in terms of its features, there is hardly any benefit in launching the 5" screen.

2017 Apple iPhone 8: Glass-Sandwich Chassis And Other Features

While fallback designs are still being taken into consideration, The 2017 Apple iPhone 8 will feature a glass sandwich chassis, which has an incorporated AMOLED display. Apple hasn't revealed yet which material it'll use next just in case the anticipated glass design won't work, however, Aluminum seems to be a good choice.

The 2017 model will feature a 14 MP Rear Camera and a 4 MP front-facing camera for taking selfies. Along with the OLED display, the upcoming Apple iPhone 8 will also get a Gorilla protection screen, a fingerprint scanner and a retina display. Powered by the iOS 11, the smartphone will have a A10 processor.

Among other specs, the 2017 Apple iPhone 8 will come with a compass, a barometer and a thermometer as well. The smartphone will be dustproof as well as shockproof. The next year's iPhone will include some of the major changes, and is also expected to totally get rid of the Home button.
