Apple Final Cut Pro X 10.3: 10 Awesome New Features That You Must Know [VIDEO]
Recently. Apple released Final Cut Pro X 10.3. And, we must say that there has been a huge update in the software which enables it to offer commendable new features. Apple's addition of the Final Cut Pro X 10.3 to its trackless NLE Touch Bar in the latest MacBook Pro is a big upgrade that every Apple fanatic would love. And, the awesome features coming with the software are what makes it more approachable. Let's take a look at all the new features added to the software.
10 Final Cut Pro X 10.3 Features
Revamped new 2D interface:
If you have used previous versions of Final Cut Pro X, then you will notice that the new one has dropped out the 3D looks in the layout. This all-dark and flat look has been introduced with new position for the buttons as well.
It might be confusing for some old users in the beginning, but you will eventually get used to it. To be honest, you will find the Final Cut Pro X 10.3 version much more appealing and functional to use. The new changes are not just meant for a new look, but for a better operational interface.
New Flow Transition:
Apple has now added a Flow Transition feature that is similar to the one found in Adobe Premiere Pro's Morph Cut tool. This feature lets you make jump cuts for better and smoother transitions. Editors would love this feature added in the new Final Cut Pro X version.
Characteristic workspaces:
Now, users will finally be able to enjoy the custom workspaces feature in the new Final Cut Pro X. A new workspaces option has been added inside the window menu from where users can choose and switch between various workspaces.
Remove attributes/effects:
The Edit menu has been introduced with a remove effects and a remove attributes option. This will let users remove all the effects (for Remove Effects button) and remove particular effects (for Remove Attributes button).
Speedy audio fades:
The Adjust Volume button in the Modify tool has been introduced with Remove and Apply Fades buttons. This lets user manage the fading of audio tracks. These effects are in reference to the tail and head of the tracks. But, if you use a shortcut key then you will find other options such as Toggle Audio Fade In & Out which is present in the keyboard shortcut command tool.
Set Fade Duration As Default:
In the Edition option, you will find a new option that will let you set a default fade time for the audio track. This is a helpful feature that lets you combine it with the new audio fade button talked about in the above feature.
Full Height Inspector:
The Inspector height option in the Final Cut Pro X 10.3 is not a limited option anymore. You can now double click on the heading to view it vertically. This feature helps those who are working on a clip with multiple effects and audio tracks.
Layout buttons for quick access:
There are three new layout buttons that are for quick access through the upper right corner. These buttons in the Final Cut Pro X 10.3 are Timeline, Inspector, and Browser. These buttons let you toggle the different actions on or off instantly.
Better Timeline Index with revamped roles panel:
You are going to have a more capable version of the Timeline Index thanks to the updated Roles panel. Users will be able to edit the roles much easily and it includes clip color as well. You can also arrange roles in the Timeline Index itself. Moreover, you can instantly apply them right there in the timeline.
You can also use focus application on a particular role which will minimize the other roles in the timeline at that time. Final Cut Pro X 10.3 also lets users to pre-assign roles before importing them. These features certainly add in a better control over the tool.
A new Audio lanes button:
The Timeline Index's Roles panel also adds in a new Audio Lanes option. This lets users assign roles to various lanes. This will let you get an overview of the clips which are deduced with the help of role meta-data. After the editing is complete, the clips move to the starting positions automatically. This involves matching and mixing various roles together.
The new changes in the Final Cut Pro X 10.3 have been well thought out. They might appear a little intricate at first, but they seem to help a lot once you are used to them.
