Ford Mustang GT4 Unveiled At SEMA: New Power House Is Ready To Take On The Racers
Some highly anticipated cars have made their debut at SEMA 2016. Ford has also joined the others by unveiling the powerhouse Mustang GT4 alongside the Cobrajet and COPO Camaro.
The new turnkey car is based on the Mustang Shelby GT350R-C and developed by Multimatic Motorsports, who have earlier developed the Ford GT supercar. As reported by Cars Guide, the Mustang GT4 is equipped with 5.2-liter flat-plane crank V8 along with a Hollinger-sourced six-speed with pneumatic action for consistent gear shifts.
The new ford Mustang GT4 gets Multimatic's Dynamic Suspension Spool Valve dampers, front, and rear stabilizer bars, and rear lower control arms. Mark Rushbrook, Ford's US motorsport engineering manager,said,
"The new Mustang is a global vehicle, Now its growing fan base has a GT4 competition model to race and support around the globe."
The GT4 underbody is modified with aerodynamic technology including a new rear wing, rear diffuser, splitter, and more bonnet venting directed at improving both downforce and engine and brake cooling. An updated suspension and a set of Forgeline racing wheels with slick tires set it apart from the regular wheels. GT4 interior is packed with anti-lock braking control, racing roll cage, and race-ready engine controls and a data logger. The new Mustang GT4 would be eligible in the US and European events in the GT4 category.
The new Ford Mustang GT4 is two classes below the GTE Pro class. Ford with this new addition of Mustang GT4 has joined the likes of Porsche, BMW, and Mclaren which will compete in both the Pirelli World Challenge GTS class and the IMSA Continental Tire SportsCar Challenge. As reported by Fox News.
