As the global warming continues to hit the Earth, more people become aware of it. An increasing number of activists and campaigners are prepared to fight against climate change. Recently, a group of campaigners won the battle in the high court against the UK government.

The campaigners took their step to a higher platform and eventually triumphed their stance. Their purpose is to speed up and improve measures to fight against the harmful air pollution.

The environmental lawyers, ClientEarth, took the legal action following the "continuing failure to tackle the national air pollution crisis." As the court sees the harmful effect they have favored the side of the campaigners, forcing the government to make an immediate action, according to ITV News.

ClientEarth Lawyer, Alan Andrews said that "We hope the new Government will finally get on with preparing a credible plan to resolve this issue once and for all. We look forward to working with Defra ministers on developing a new plan which makes a genuine attempt to achieve legal limits throughout the UK as soon as possible." He added that the need of a national network of clean air zones must take place by 2018 in cities across the UK, not just in a handful of cities. An estimated of 9,400 deaths happen each year in London alone. The deaths link to illnesses caused by long-term exposure to air pollution. Meanwhile, 448 schools in the capital exceed legal air quality.

London Mayor Sadiq Khan stated that today's High Court ruling brings sharply into focus the scale of the country's air pollution crisis and lays the blame at the door of the Government for its complacency in failing to tackle the problem quickly and credibly. They have let down millions of people the length and breadth of the country. This must now act as a real wake-up call to Government, according to BBC News.
