If you own any early MacBook model, you may have to bid it goodbye. Apple has deiced to make its 2009/2011 Macbooks obsolete before the end of this year. Some of the other earlier models are to be added to the company's official list of vintage products. According to Macrumors, Apple will add some of the 2009/2011 MacBooks models to the obsolete list, whereas the remaining will be added on the vintage list. Apple will reportedly announce the news as late as December 31, this year. Here's what we know about Apple's decision so far:

2009/ 2011 MacBooks: Obsolete & Vintage Models

The MacBook manufacturer has described the difference between the Obsolete and Vintage Products on a dedicated page of its official website. The difference is a must know for all those who own an early Macbook model to decipher whether their model will be tagged as obsolete or vintage. The dedicated page describes the vintage product as a device that was manufactured sometime between five and seven years ago.

Apple has already announced the discontinuation of its hardware service on such vintage 2009/2011 MacBook models. If you own any such model then there's also a catch. The hardware service and support is still being provided for a few exceptional places such as California. The obsolete product, on the other hand, has been described as the devices whose production has been discontinued before seven years.

If you own any such early device then you won't be getting any hardware service from now on. The customer service will be discontinued for such obsolete products from December 31, this year and there are no exceptions. Service providers have also been instructed not to order any parts which are to be used for such devices.

According to 9to5Mac, the 15" as well as the 17" models of the MacBook Pro, which were rolled out in early 2011 will be added to the company's vintage list of products on December 31. The effect will take place in the United States and Turkey. Whereas in the other parts of the globe, the products will be added to the Obsolete list.

The Mac mini, which was released back in early 2009, as well as the 13" MacBook that was released in middle of 2009, are to be added to the obsolete Apple products lists across all regions on December 31.
