Next Generation Ford Fiesta 2017 recently made its debut for the European Market at a launch event in Germany. The next model for the best-selling new car in Britain will hit the markets next year amongst its rivals Volkswagen Polo, Nissan Micra and Citreon C3. Although the competition is tough, the upcoming Fiesta will possibly keep its records unbroken.

Next Generation Ford Fiesta 2017 has a more premium outlook and the Auto manufacturer has also decided to ditch several of its entry-level trim lines. The car has more room, appears larger, and a top class interior. Here's what we know about the upcoming Fiesta Model so far:

Next Generation Ford Fiesta 2017: Exterior And Interior

The exterior design director, George Saridakis describes the car's styling as a more mature approach. New exterior has a simpler design than the previous models and features comparatively narrow windows to give the upcoming Fiesta a more elegant look. The supermini also has a 4mm longer wheelbase for housing 18" wheels, providing an extra 16mm leg space.

Next Generation Ford Fiesta 2017 has many minor tweaks to help increase the cabin space. These include new slimmer front seats and new head and leg room adjustments. The luggage capacity is expected to be 290 liters at least and with the new wider tailgate opening, access has been made much easier. The car will also come with a number of customization options including new mirror caps and roofs with contrasting colors.

The interior, on the other hand, has some major redesign. The current vertical center stack has been replaced with a new wider dash, which has more horizontal elements. The infotainment system is also a new one. The center console contains half the number of buttons than the earlier models, which make it easy to control the main functions.

The Climate Control, however, is controlled by the touch screen. The Interior quality has taken a huge leap ahead as compared to the other cars in its class. The Fiesta definitely gives a more refined feel on the inside. Ford is also offering its buyers new and unique colored trim inserts for the interior.

Next Generation Ford Fiesta 2017: Available Trims

The upcoming Fiesta has a huge number of trims, all to be available for purchase. While the new Style trim will exclusively be offered for the fleet customers, the private customer gets to choose from Titanium, Vignale, Zetec, ST-Line and Active trims. All these trims also come with a variety of personalisation packs. The Active crossover features five-door body style but a three door option is also available.

The cars with comparatively lower specs have the basic front end. The ST-Line, however, features a new mesh for the grille and a much deeper front bumper that gives the car a sportier look. Although the new ST-Line trim was introduced with the launch of the outgoing Fiesta, it has already taken up the market by surprise.

The upcoming next generation Fiesta is also expected to follow its path, breaking the previous sales records. The Titanium and Vignale models also have a few modifications and look very much different from the previous models.

Next Generation Ford Fiesta 2017: Specs & Features

The upcoming Fiesta will be powered by a 1.0-litre three-cylinder EcoBoost turbo petrol, which comes in three power output versions. The engines being offered give an output of 99bhp, 123bhp and 138bhp respectively. The car features a six-speed manual gearbox, which reduces the CO2 emissions much further to around 95g/km.

The 98 bhp engine will include a six-speed auto transmission system, which will come with steering wheel paddles. The 69 bhp or 84 bhp engines, on the other hand, will have the new 1.1-litre three-cylinder giving out 101g/km of CO2. The engines are being offered with an automatic start/stop button. Some cars also have the active aero front grille, so as to improve the engine's mileage.

Although the prices of the upcoming Ford Fiesta has not been announced yet, the entry-level three-door Zetec is expected to have a £14,000 ($17,800 USD) starting price. The Fiesta model will hit the market in summer 2017. Stay Tuned to SWR for more news and updates on the Next Generation Ford Fiesta 2017.
