'Halo Wars 2' Trailer Introduces New Villian, Antroix : Update On Story Release Date & Pre-Order

Microsoft Studios made the first official announcement on "Halo Wars 2" at the 2015 Gamescom expo. Further information regarding the game's storyline has been unveiled at the popular developers' award event "Game Awards 2016." Microsoft released the latest trailer of "Halo Wars 2" at the event that revealed the new main antagonist Atroix in the game.

The New Villain In "Halo Wars 2"

The "Halo Wars 2" trailer introduces the new villain of "Halo Wars 2"- Atriox, who was a Brute enslaved under the Covenant. However, Atriox with his leadership skills influences and inspires his fellow slaves in the Covenant. These followers come together under his leadership as a force of private army called the Banished. They fight against the Covenant and escape themselves from its clutches of the Covenant and the rebellion continues, as reported by Gamenguide.

The Mission Of UNSC

The Banished under Atroix plans on acquiring the most powerful weapon that will be disastrous to the entire galaxy. The United Nation Space Command (UNSC) is vested with the responsibility of stopping this heinous scheme of Atroix and his folks to save the galaxy from the impending harm.

The new "Halo Wars 2" trailer also shows the enhanced mechanics and new systems introduced in "Halo Wars 2." The trailer however expands and widens the scope of the "Halo" franchise in the universe with the newly established story line. Talks around the gaming world also suggest that the game is comparable to the "StarCraft II" title.

Pre-Order Options Opened

Reports suggest that the "Halo Wars 2" Ultimate Edition is lined up already for pre-order at the cost $79.99.The pre-order shall include a copy of the base game, the season pass and the Definitive Edition of the original "Halo Wars," as reported by the Gamespot. 

Expected Release Date

Players who pre-order shall receive the game's Ultimate Edition in advance through the early access for the "Halo Wars" Definitive Edition. The early access shall be granted as a special treat for players on Dec. 20, 2016. The game was expected to be launched by fall 2016, which was unexpectedly delayed. The "Halo Wars 2" is expected to be launched for Windows PC and Xbox One on Feb. 21, 2017.
