Rumors are that Intel has signed a deal with AMD to license its Radeon graphics technology. The Intel Kaby Lake specs may actually include AMD Radeon RX 490 GPU.

We know of the war being fought between Intel and AMD for several years. Since the time it came up with its own microprocessor, AMD has tried to compete with the tech giant Intel in its processor market.

After some tough legal battles were fought, Intel allowed AMD to purchase some licensing rights. Intel has been the CPU design master throughout the competition. Intel Kaby Lake processor is the best processing chip currently.

However, since so much specialisation was done in the computer processing region, Intel's efforts in the graphics processing was undermined. Intel then signed on a deal with NVIDIA in 2011 to integrate Intel processors with top notch graphics. This license is about to expire on March 31, 2017.

This brings us to the rumours in the market. Experts believe Intel is working with AMD to integrate the GPU structure in the upcoming Intel Kaby Lake processor!

Point to note, these are just rumous and Intel has not clarified any of the aspects of such dealings. However, rumours floating in various tech forums is pointing towards such possible collaboration.

The forum thread also speculates that Intel may look forward to integrating HBM memory technology to its future processors.

It is no surprise that the processor company is silent on the Intel Kaby Lake specs. It is all a part of the intellectual property laws and the licesing regime.

It should also be noted that this is not the first time that Intel has asked AMD for licensing help- it approached the company for the AMD64 license. The Intel Kaby Lake is scheduled to be a part of several flagship company PCs which are releasing in 2017.

Do you think it is a wise decision for the Intel Kaby Lake specs to include the AMD GPU?
