Work From Home By "Fifth Harmony" Becomes Most Watched Video Of 2016
"Work from Home" by Fifth Harmony has topped Youtube's list of "most watched videos of 2016". The video sharing website has prepared this list on the basis of numbers of comments, likes and shares. While Fifth Harmony is at the top spot, Calvin Harris and Rihanna are at the second with their popular music video, "This is what you came for".
Before this list happened, Fifth Harmony had to always come after Rihanna when it came to "work" songs. The band had to change the name of their song from "Work" to "Work from home" because Rihanna had come out with her own "Work" (featuring Drake) song. According to Fifth Harmony "we decided to change the name because we cannot have a song with a name similar to a song by the 'queen' {referring to Rihanna}. So we decided to change it to work from home, by just adding two more words". It certainly looks like the simple name change has paid off for the girls.
The all-girl band has emerged as the unanimous winner and Rihanna has to remain content with playing second fiddle to them. "Work from Home" has got more than a billion hits on Youtube, ever since it was released on February this year.
The "Work from home" video shows the girls having a good time with few construction workers, who are all shirtless. This might explain why the song grabbed so many eyeballs from around the world. According to Fifth Harmony member Dinah Jane Hansen, "you cannot help but stare at these shirtless men while you are watching the video"!
The question which instantly comes to the mind is "it is the video or the song which attracted so many listeners"? It is a question which hasn't been answered yet. The video can be watched here.
