The Lost City Of Atlantis: Conspiracists Now Believe The Theory Of Hapgood, Claiming Antarctica Is Indeed Atlantis
Is Antarctica the Lost City of Atlantis? It is a question that is frequently asked for years. Now, conspiracists believe that the crustal displacement is possibly true. Antarctica may be Atlantis.
The Crustal Displacement is a scientific theory. In the theory, it shows that thousands of years ago, the icy tundra is believed to be the home of ancient and mysterious civilization.
A history expert in the United States, Professor Charles A. Hapgood, first published a paper, back in the 1950s. He wrote that the movement in the crust of the Earth means that only 11,600 years ago, huge parts of Antarctica was totally ice-free, according to The Sun.
Prof. Hapgood added that the evidence of the theory was in the 500-year-old Piri Reis map. It is a world map made by the Ottoman admiral of the same name.
The map has been examined by numerous scholars. They said that it clearly shows the west coast of Africa, the northern coast of Antarctica and the east coast of South America. They added that the locations are not covered with ice sheets.
Meanwhile, back in 1960, Lt. Colonel Harold Z. Ohlmeyer wrote a letter to Prof. Hapgood. In it, he said that the Piri Reis map theory was indeed correct.
Also, he said that, "The geographical detail shown in the lower part of the map agrees very remarkably with the results of the seismic profile made across the top of the ice-cap by the Swedish-British Antarctic Expedition of 1949. This indicates the coastline had been mapped before it was covered by the ice-cap. This part of Antarctica [is] ice free. The ice-cap in this region is now about a mile thick," according to the Event Chronicle.
In a report by the Daily Star, the conspiracists now think that Prof. Hapgood was correct and he discovered that much of the South Pole was ice-free. They also believed that it is the Lost City of Atlantis.
The existence of this mysterious paradise first appeared in the writings of the Greek philosopher Plato way back in 360 B.C. Plato described Atlantis as a paradise where half-gods and half-humans exist 9,000 years before he himself existed.
In line with this report, just a few months back, the so-called proof of Antarctica to be Atlantis emerged in the form of pictures. The images show huge pyramids jutting out of its ice.
