Lucid Motors has made a loud announcement about its upcoming electric car. The new bad boy named "Air" was unveiled on Wednesday by Lucid Motors at an event in California. The Lucid Motors electric car is expected to join the markets in 2018.

With giants like Tesla already in the line for the next big electric car, Lucid Motors is not to be easily overshadowed. The Lucid Motors Air is expected to cost more than $100,000 on its launch. But with this price tag, they are promising a lot of first class luxurious specifications and features. The car will have two motors and a combined 1000 horsepower. The luxury car can accelerate from zero to 60 in mere 2.5 seconds. Not just this, you can expect top notch cameras and radars.

Lucid Motors electric car claims that Air would also have an option for 130 kWh with a whopping 400 mile range battery. Consider the case of Tesla's Model S variant P100D, its costliest one, which has only a 337 mile range. The standard variant of Lucid Motors Air will have a 100 kWh battery only. Lucid Motors has given its electric car a modern sedan look. It is futuristic in appearance and has thin stripes for head and back lights. The inside is even more attractive, if that is possible. The seats look ergonomic and comfortable with full gadget support.

Lucid Motors plan to produce its electric car by 2018. The building process will take place in its new facility in Arizona. They also expect 2000 people to join the company by 2022. Wondering who is going to power the car? It is a lithium-ion battery supplied by Samsung SDI.

Are you excited about Air, which will be Lucid Motors' addition to the electric car trend? Keep watching this space for more updates!
