Microsoft gained a new beginning in its innovative technology with the release of the Surface Pro 4 last year. And now, everyone is waiting for the next version to come up. But, it seems like fans will have to wait for the notebook to come out till Spring 2017. The Microsoft Surface Pro 5 release date might be far, but the Surface Pro 5 rumors are already out giving readers an idea of what to expect in the new machine.

The Surface Pro 5 was already engulfed by rumors that made numerous predictions about it. The laptop was rumored for an October 2016 release date, but it seems like that is false. According to Tech Radar, it is anticipated that the product might see a launch in Spring 2017. Most expected the Microsoft Surface Pro 5 release date to be in or around January 2017.

But, the reason behind the delay in the date is due to the lack of availability of Intel Kaby Lake processor which is the latest processor brought by the American company. Microsoft wants the Surface Pro series to replace desktop computers giving users a mix of power, performance, and flexibility.

Microsoft Surface Pro 5 Specs, Rumors

Microsoft Surface Pro 5 specs are mostly rumors. But, if these specs are confirmed, then this machine would be the best one out yet. The first and foremost spec that is rumored is the use of Kaby Lake chipset in the device. Besides that, the Surface Pro 5 will be having 16 GB of RAM and at least a 1080p display. The Surface Pen that has been an accessory offered for the Surface Pro series would finally be rechargeable gadget as seen in Apple Pencil provided for the Apple iPad Pro.

Another persistent rumor that has been heard a lot is that the Microsoft Surface Pro 5 will be available in 2 variants. One being a standard model, while the other being a pro model. According to PC Advisor, Microsoft revealed a Windows 10 demo running on ARM processor computer. This made many think that the Surface Pro 5 (standard model) could come with a Qualcomm Snapdragon processor chip instead of Kaby Lake.

The use of Snapdragon chipset has its own advantage such as improved battery life and LTE connectivity, but it would not be as capable in computing as the Kaby Lake processors are. This ARM-based variant could give us the possibility of 2 variants for the Microsoft Surface Pro 5. What lies ahead for the device is yet to be seen. But, we are sure that there will certainly be some serious competition once the Surface Pro 5 launches.
