Dog with Head Stuck in Air Vent Rescued by RSPCA
An 8-month-old dog that got his head stuck inside an air vent was finally rescued by officials at the RSPCA.
Named as Curious Jasper after this incident, the dog just spent two days with his new owner when the incident occurred. Jasper managed to get his head stuck in an air vent of an outbuilding at his home in Hucknall, Nottinghamshire.
Japser was spotted by his owner, who discovered him in a distressed situation with his head poking out of an air vent. It was then that they sought help from the RSPCA.
Inspector Nick Wheelhouse was the one who attended to Jasper. But he failed to free the dog with the help of the locals. The vet from Buckley House Vets who attended to Jasper decided to sedate the dog so that he kept calm while they tried to rescue him
Several attempts included breaking bricks and using some liquid to slide Jasper out. In the end, it was Nottinghamshire Fire and Rescue Service and crew who came with a special equipment to release the animal.
They removed the bottom of the window frame and the window and managed to remove the bricks and get Jasper out. The dog immediately underwent a medical check-up by a vet.
"Jasper was getting distressed by his situation and was putting up a fight so he needed to be sedated to stop him injuring himself. After he was sedated he was snoring! His head was down and he was asleep which made it easier for the rescuers to work round him and I stayed to make sure he was stable. I can say this was one of the strangest cases I had been called out to deal with," vet Tom Foster said in a press statement.
