McDonalds Angus Burger will soon be cut out of their menu, after 4 years being sold at the burger chain.

The Angus burger was introduced in 2009 is among the chain's priciest items. Sales were not keeping up with the high beef prices. McDonalds will be replacing The Angus with some new items that are still disclosed.

McDonalds Customers were not buying the angus burger because these are the consumers that are more concerned with buying a cheap meal than getting a quality sandwich.

The Dollar Menu has also made the Angus burger a less attractive option at around $4 to $5.

"When you can get four or five burgers off the Dollar Menu, nobody's going to buy the Angus burger," a consultant of McDonalds said. "The Dollar Menu has become a real problem for these chains."

At a time when the restaurant industry is barely growing, McDonald's has been playing up its Dollar Menu in ads to boost sales and steal customers away from competitors. Even if that hurts profit margins, executives say the strategy is critical to gaining market share and ensuring the long-term health of the company.

The burger chain is also cutting their unpopular Chicken Selects and Fruit & Walnut Salad. The higher quality items were not compatible to the McDonalds money saving menu.

McDonalds intends to expand its line of lower-cost Quarter Pounders in coming months, including an option with bacon.

They did hint at replacing the Angus choices for some brand new surprises on the menu. My guess is it's something lower in calories, and maybe even vegetarian, to keep up with the shifting changing in tastes to the 20 and 30-year-olds.

In order to lighten up their menu McDonalds did add Egg McMuffins on whole grain brain and made with egg whites, and a chicken McWrap.  McDonalds calls these healthier choices "Subway Busters" because they deter people from going to their competitor, "Subway."
