This just in. Lindsay Lohan has gained five pounds.

This is shocking news. We know. However, we have to wonder, what caused this tremendous weight gain?

According to RadarOnline, after the American Actresses' Adderall supply was indefinitely suspended at a California rehab, she started to pack on the pounds.

"Lindsay can't stop eating, and has gained five pounds because she has such poor eating habits," the Insider said. "She has been exercising, but she just doesn't have a lot of energy because she is no longer taking Adderall, which is a psychostimulant medication that contains amphetamine. She has been talking to a nutritionist at Betty Ford about eating healthier."

Lohan checked into Betty Ford May 2 as part of a 90-day sentence for reckless driving. Lohan pleaded no contest to the charge in March and agreed to enter rehab, spend 18 months in psychotherapy and serve 30 days of community service.

As Lohan has been diagnosed with attention deficit disorder, she was prescribed prescription Adderall to help aid her health problem. However, officials note that the prescription may be unnecessary, and she doesn't need to take it while she undergoes treatment at the facility for both drug and alcohol addiction.

Adderall contains a combination of amphetamine and dextroamphetamine, which can be treated to help narcolepsy and attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD.) The drug can be habit forming and is often associated with weight loss. Yet, when people go off the prescription, they tend to gain back lost weight.

Though the star hasn't hit the news recently for anything other than drunk driving, stealing or drug use, we all remember a happier time in the days of "The Parent Trap" or "Freaky Friday." (Or, the semi-recent film that everyone tried to forget or no one heard of, "Liz and Dick.")

If five pounds is the only thing we hear in the next few weeks, we'll be happy. No big deal, Lohan.
