New stories keep popping up about new bundle of joys that entered the world this Memorial Day Weekend. In Utah, one family was welcomed with five bundles of joy.

Guillermina and Fernando Garcia of Salt Lake City, are the first parents to birth quintuplets in Utah in the last five years, according to The Salt Lake Tribune. And better still, it's the first to come to x hospital.

"We just want them to be healthy...We had faith that God willing, everything would turn out fine," Guillermina said, according to a translation from a press conference at the University of Utah Hospital on Tuesday.

This 34-year-old couple had the three girls and two boys for 31.5 weeks gestation. They were delivered via cesarean section on Sunday at 11:30 a.m., according to Tracy Manuck, the maternal fetal medicine specialist at the U. who oversaw the high-risk pregnancy.

According to xxx, the procedure only lasted a few minutes to deliver the five new babies. However, reports show that it took over 100 medical staff to monitor the children after delivery. This may be in part due to the fact that Guillermina was admitted to the hospital in early April and put on only bed rest until she developed pre-eclampsia and was forced to deliver, according to Manuck via The Salt Lake Tribune.

"We are very excited about this remarkable delivery," she said, noting the typical gestation for quintuplets is 27 to 29 weeks. "She beat the odds and averages by quite a lot."

According to USA Today, Dr. Elizabeth O'Brien of the intensive care unit said the babies are doing "remarkly well," and believes a longer time in the womb may be why.

According to the American Pregnancy Association, multiples can face many problems upon entering the world that other children may not. For instance, preterm delivery is common, and so are the following: low birthweight, intrauterine growth restriction, pre-eclampsia, gestational diabetes, fetal demise, etc. And, many must be delivered via cesarean section for a healthy birth.
