Of course, we saw it coming.

After Paula Deen's discriminatory jokes that lost the once celebrity show cook's spot on the Food Network, her deal with the Diabetes drug company, Novo Nordisk, got the boot as well.

Taking a step back, we're a little uncertain as to why Paula Deen, someone who probably keeps a cup of bacon fat in the fridge to spread on salads for a touch of flavor, would have a Southern cooking show when she is diabetic. Regardless, that's neither here nor there.

In any case, the pharmaceutical company announced Thursday that it was cutting ties with Ms. Deen.

"Novo Nordisk and Paula Deen have mutually agreed to suspend our patient education activities for now, while she takes time to focus her attention where it is needed," the company wrote in a statement, according to Yahoo News. "Novo Nordisk would like to acknowledge Paula's involvement in ourDiabetes in a New LightTM campaign, where she has helped make many people aware of type 2 diabetes and the lifestyle changes needed to control this serious disease."

Coming back to Deen and her health, the controversial diagnoses was just announced to the public a mere three years ago. Yet, Deen has been dealing with Type 2 Diabetes for a longer period than she let on, according to various reports.

Type 2 diabetes is the most common form of the disease, with millions of Americans across the country afflicted by the health issue. The problem prevents the body from producing enough insulin, which can lead to many health complications.

We're uncertain what's in the works for Deen, but one thing's for sure. If you are diabetic, you won't see her in any commercials for this product.
