NASA's temperature data revealed that April was the hottest month on their record. NASA also revealed that it will get hotter as long as global warming is not given more attention.

NASA's temperature data spanned 136 years, which not only revealed April 2016 to be the hottest month on record, but also revealed that the temperature has drastically shot up for the past decades. April 2016 is also the seventh consecutive month in a row in NASA's dataset that the earth has recorded its warmest.

Because global warming warnings have been issued for years now, the new data hardly surprises. What was surprising was how dire the situation is right now, obviously showing how much  the warnings issued in the past fell into deaf ears.

"The interesting thing is the scale at which we're breaking records," said Andy Pitman, director of the ARC Centre of Excellence for Climate System Science at the University of New South Wales in Australia told The Guardian. The director said that it is apparent how the world is persisting in the wrong direction.

El Nino is largely to blame for the hot months that the world has been experiencing. What is more alarming is that El Nino in 2015 was the strongest, as reported by Skymet. These hot months that followed were natural, but truly scary.

Eric Holthaus, a meteorologist, told The Independent: "It's scary. We knew an El Nino would impact things, but I don't think anyone expected this jump."

An evidence of how climate change concerns are not being taken seriously are Presumptive Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump's plans and policies on this issue.

The quite vocal candidate reportedly told Reuters that he will renegotiate America's role in the global climate accord, if not reverse the whole thing. If he succeeds in doing so, he can spell the potential doom for an agreement perceived by many a the last chance for the world to fight global warming.

Trump however, does not believe there are climate change issues in the first place. For him, the concept of global warming is fabricated by China to hurt US competitiveness in the business arena. One of his energy policy advisers is even a climate change skeptic.

These views may turn out problematic for the whole world, especially if NASA continues to see these alarming patterns. If the situation is not reversed soon and fast, the repercussions of climate change will just worsen, until they become unbearable.
