Losing weight is not a challenge anymore, there is no need to pop in pills or starve and torture yourself by keeping sugary treats at bay. All you need to do is have some honey before dozing off to sleep.

Mike McInnes, a nutrition expert came up with the honey diet after analyzing various sports persons who consumed fructose-rich foods like honey. It was observed that those athletes had improved stamina and they dropped extra weight at a quicker pace.

To follow the honey diet, one must replace the regular sugar with honey, which experts consider to be "good sugar". Before you sleep, gulp in three spoons of honey along with warm water. About 15 minutes of exercising and working out at least thrice a week is a must while following the diet, this will not only make you lose weight and burn your fats but also helps in enhancing your physical capability. Following the honey diet for a week would help you lose about 3 pounds.

Honey consumption through the diet shuts the brain's sugar cravings by fulfilling them and forcing the brain to produce fat burning hormones. These cravings do not usually get calmed in the other diets.

"A hungry brain is a stressed brain," said Mr. McInnes, according to a Daily Mail report.

"In desperation, it will send out a cocktail of chemical messages to try to drum up sugar from any other possible source."

It is also advised that one should not consume more than 4 tablespoons of honey in a day if you are planning to lose weight. Each tablespoon of honey consists of 64 calories, which can lead to weight gain in excess and no exercises.

Honey is a nutrient-rich miraculous nectar, which provides you with enough energy to carry on with your work through the day. Not just cutting weight, honey is also a remedy for curbing hangovers, all one needs to do is take a spoon full of honey before going to bed after drinking and have some more honey during breakfast.
